Raiders of the Broken Planet is an independent project. It is also the largest we’ve ever undertaken at MercurySteam. Such an ambitious game is simply out of reach for a studio like ours. But we were determined, so we had to figure out how the hell we were going to do it.
The solution was to split it into campaigns: As we work on each of them, we involve the community in its development and incorporate your feedback. Each campaign is a complete adventure, developed in collaboration with our players, at a fair and attractive price. This way the game improves over time and we generate the income we need to keep working on the project.
At MercurySteam, we always wanted to fly with our own wings, to maintain creative control and responsibility for our own IP, talking with our players directly and knowing what they really want. Raiders of the Broken Planet is our chance to do just that.
